Nosy Komba is a volcanic island situated between Nosy Be and mainland Madagascar. The pristine beach is just a few steps from the lodge, offering safe swimming and snorkeling on a reef about a hundred meters offshore.
The island has much to offer, from its picturesque mountain ranges and the nearby village of Ampangorina to the opportunity to spot ocean giants during a whale-watching safari. The vibrant underwater coral forests of Madagascar will leave you with unforgettable memories of colorful marine life.

Day 1

Arrival at Nosy Be & transfer to the Lodge
Arrival at Nosy Be from Johannesburg with Airlink flight.
Roland the driver will be waiting to Transfer you to the Port where Skipper, Josara will transfer you by boat to the Lodge, a 25-minute boat ride, depending on the weather.
You will be greeted by your hostess, Marcine Cooper, the owner of 293 on Komba Guest Lodge. After a welcome drink, a short briefing on the Lodge, the village, and surroundings, you have time to unpack, settle in, swim, and relax.
A delicious three-course dinner will be served at 7 pm. You are welcome to come up to the top terrace where you can order a local cocktail or drinks from the bar.
Day 2

Ampangorina Village tour of Ampangorina, the Sakalava community & Lemur park
After a leisurely breakfast, you will be taken by a local guide through the village telling you about the culture and the local Sakalava tribe as well as a visit to the local museum and thereafter a walk up to observe the Black Lemur in its natural habitat.
The village is known for its many artworks, and you can find statues, masks, model canoes but above all, the famous embroidered tablecloths in “point Richelieu” style. After the Guided walk you welcome to enjoy the village at your own pace and find one of the local village eating spots for a delicious local meal. Return to the Lodge, have a swim or snorkel, or just chill and get accustomed to the humidity & heat

Day 3

A Visit to Hellville
07h30 Start the day with an early boat trip to Hellville. This is not a guided excursion, and you can explore at your leisure. Tuk Tuks will be waiting at the port to transfer you to Casa Mofu a local “coffee shop” where you will have a “French” breakfast of local pastries.
After breakfast, you are welcome to explore on your own or as a group in a taxi. A Visit to the jewellery shop where the locally crafted Star Safire stones/jewellery are for sale. Star Safire stones are authentic to Madagascar.
There is also a delicious Italian restaurant Pappillon to wind up at for a midday lunch.
Today’s activities & lunch will be for your account. After lunch, you will make your way back to the Port, where your boat will be waiting to take you back to the Lodge.

Day 4

Tanikely & Sakatia islands one of the top best snorkelling spots in the world!
Today’s excursion will be a visit to one of the best snorkelling islands in the world where there is an abundance of various fish, turtles and coral. This is truly a natural aquarium!
Even if you don’t like snorkelling the water is so clear and clean that you can see the various sea life with the naked eye. There is a lovely walk up to the lighthouse where you have a spectacular view of all the islands. After about 2hrs of snorkelling the excursion boat will transfer you to Sakatia Island where you will enjoy another amazing experience – swimming with the big Green Turtles!

Day 6
Lokobe Nature Reserve
08h30 departure to Lokobe Nature Reserve, a 15-minute boat ride across the bay. The local guides will take you on an amazing guided walk where you will see lemurs, snakes, different chameleons, and some unique creatures, plants, and trees.
Includes a picnic lunch on the beach of local seafood and delicious coconut rice. The boat will transfer you back to the lodge in the early afternoon.

A lovely boat trip to a secret island
After Breakfast a leisurely trip to a lovely little ‘secret island’ for a morning of just chilling and snorkelling on a remote island.
