Kruger Big 5 Tented Hike

For those of you who like being close to nature, and walk on the wild-side. This is a once in a life-time experience!

Be blown away by how close you will feel to Mother Nature and all the fascinating aspects of the wild Kruger

Duration: 4 days, 3 nights
Destination: Greater Kruger National Park
Accommodation: Mobile Tented Safari Camp
Interests: Fauna and Flora, Wild-Life, Walking, Photography, Birding, Game Drives, Bush Dinners, Star-gazing

Whether it’s an outing with work Colleques, Friends or Family, spend 4 days hiking through the Maseke / Balule Game Reserve, one of the most northerly, remote areas of the Greater Kruger. The terrain is rocky but an easy to moderate walk, covering quite a distance each day – but with plenty of refreshments and rest breaks.

This is the perfect, most unique breakaway for those looking to unwind and relax in nature, with plenty of walking, fresh air, serenity and exciting game sightings, quenching the thirst of those seeking a touch of adventure.

A hiking safari in the wild Kruger Park is best enjoyed during the cooler months of the year, April to October, outside of the major rainy season, when the grass is shorter making for easier walking and better Game viewing.

Each day is spent walking through the 8000-hectare reserve, and each night is spent at a fully set up mobile campsite in a different scenic location, ending the last night on the banks of the Olifants River with spectacular views.

This is the adventure of a lifetime for those who want to get to know the Kruger soil and camp beneath the stars. This could be considered ‘roughing it’, as there are no super luxurious elements to the camp, but with a proper bed and fresh linen, it is nothing less than comfortable and designed to give you an immersive experience in the Kruger bush.

The walking is easy to moderate in hiking terms. You should be in good health with a decent fitness level.

A maximum of 10 guests sharing, (sleeping in 5 tents) are taken on this Greater Kruger walking adventure.

A professional trained guide and tracker team will lead an informative, thrilling, and unforgettable walk in the wild. While guests are out exploring the Kruger on foot, a ground team will be taking down the first camp and setting up the next one in a new location.

While walking in the bush, you will unexpectantly come across a table and chairs with a lovely lunch, cooked for you on an open fire  with fresh salads and all the trimmings.

Late afternoon, a lovely cheese platter, snacks and refreshments will be on offer at camp. A late afternoon walk or game drive complete the daily experience, before a simple yet delicious campfire dinner. A proper bed in a canvas dome tent awaits you with its own separate toilet, bucket shower and warm water. Glamping at its best!
