Africa on Foot Camp

Africa on Foot is one of the most attractive and authentic safari camps located in the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve.

The Klaserie shares unfenced borders with the Kruger, which means wildlife roams freely throughout.

The atmosphere at camp is relaxed. The focus is on authenticity and the bush as opposed to luxury. Guests will be made to feel like they are part of the Africa on Foot family. There are only five chalets which mean a personalised, intimate service.

There are two chalets available for families with adjoining rooms and space for four people. A comfortable treehouse is beautifully constructed just outside camp for adventurous guests wanting to sleep out in the wild.

Ezulwini River Lodge

Set in the Balule Reserve, cradled on the banks of the Great Olifants River, beneath towering fig and natal mahogany trees lies Ezulwini River Lodge.

Set in the Balule Reserve, cradled on the banks of the Great Olifants River, beneath towering fig and natal mahogany trees lies Ezulwini River Lodge.

Ezulwini, meaning ‘place of paradise’, remains true to its name in the secretive construction of River Lodge, which is a bird-lovers utopia, and a wildlife wonderland for all of the Balule beasts.

The great leafy branches of the riverine forest drape over the viewing deck providing shade and quiet for lazy afternoons at River Lodge. The outdoor lounge, swimming pool and inviting bar area is equipped for comfort, while night time lanterns turn the place into bush dining bliss.

Big tusker elephants of the Kruger Park come to feed on the trees in the riverbed, while resident lions can be heard calling into the night. En-suite bedroom rondavels are topped with thatch and joined via wooden and concrete pathways, keeping to the authentic feel of the lodge.

Nthambo Tree Camp

Nthambo Tree Camp offers authentic luxury accommodation in your choice of five wooden tented cabins on stilts.

Located in the heart of the Klaserie Private Nature Reserve and sharing unfenced borders with the Kruger; it’s rich in wildlife viewing.

nThambo Tree Camp chalets are constructed from canvas, on raised wooden platforms, and topped with thatch roofs. Each chalet is eye-level with the trees and there are small balconies from where guests can game watch in the comfort of their rooms.

Sleeping only 10 people in total, guests are guaranteed a personalised, memorable safari experience.

Umkumbe Safari Lodge

Umkumbe Safari Lodge is located in the heart of the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, one of the most popular and upmarket Reserves in the Greater Kruger

Situated in the Southern part of the Kruger it is easy and quick to get to from Nelspruit airport. The reserve is about 65000 hectares and shares unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park.

Accommodation is growing and will soon sleep 20 people at capacity. Rooms have two single beds, ensuite bathrooms, and private patios, while each is fitted with an air-conditioner. Some of the chalets are connected via an inter-leading door, making them ideal for small groups and families. During the heat of summer, guests can relax around the swimming pool, which overlooks the Sand River and the open wilderness.

Dining in a traditional boma around a roaring fire is one of the most enjoyable African bush experiences. After dinner, rangers may even take guests out on a night drive to view the nocturnally active wildlife.

Umkumbe is in a prime position and there is almost always game to be seen from the deck and the main guest areas. Elephants, buffalo, antelope, baboons are regular visitors, while a pair of breeding fish eagles nests just in front of the lodge.

Mobile Wilderness Trail

Mobile Wilderness Trails is a one-of-a-kind mobile safari experience in South Africa. This one is for the adventurers and nature lovers who are looking for a walking safari experience like no other.

A sister camp to Klaserie’s Africa on Foot, Wilderness Trails is designed to offer 3 nights camping in the Maseke Balule Game Reserve, each night in a different location.

Each day is spent walking through the 8000-hectare reserve in the Greater Kruger Park, and each night is spent at a new, fully set up mobile campsite in a scenic location in the wilderness. A maximum of
8 guests (sleeping in 4 tents) are taken on the Kruger walking adventure of a lifetime.

A professional Africa on Foot trained guide and tracker team will lead an informative, thrilling, and unforgettable walk in the wild. While guests are out exploring the Kruger on foot, a ground team will be taking down the first camp and setting up the next one in a new location.

A packed brunch will be enjoyed in the bush, while snacks and refreshments will be on offer upon arrival at camp. Evening game drives complete the experience, before campfire dinners and bed in a canvas dome tent.
